Who are we ? What are we? What do we do?
KIWANIS IS A GLOBAL ORGANZITION-OF VOLUNTEERS, DEDICATED TO CHANGING THE WORLD, ONE CHILD, ONE COMMUNITY AT A TIME.
I repeat! Like Yogi Berra once said, (I think). “If you missed it you don’t know what you missed because you weren’t there to miss it, and you missed it again.”
And again, —what you missed was an excellent presentation of the Student Scholarship awards for 36 Students from 11 schools. Awardees came from each grade, six to twelve, one per grade. Also present were parents, teachers, school principles and Kiwanians.
Fifty percent of the membership were present to observe the proceedings headed by Lenny Iovino as the master of ceremonies and John Maccario as the dispenser of the Collegiate Dictionaries which were presented to each recipient.
A few well chosen remarks by the fellow member and Assistant Superintendent of Schools, Elizabeth Keroack were warmly received by the audience
Liz Keroack reminded the students that “excellence takes time to achieve” and to continue their studies with perseverance and fortitude.
Liz Keroach is resigning her position after many years as an educator and will become a teacher again at the college level while pursuing additional educational studies goals.
Thanks Liz and thanks for your dedication to the students during your administration as the Assistant Superintendent of Schools.
Lenny Iovino and John Maccario are to be
congratulated for their preparation and the smoothly functioning awards presentation.
Also to be congratulated and thanked are the many teachers and principals who helped Lenny and John with the selections of the students to be recognized as outstanding students.
Another Kiwanis Community Service project successfully completed and thanks to all Malden
Kiwanisans for their efforts and support.
